How do picostations handle compared to procurve access points? My company is moving into a new facility soon and we may need to install 4 access points because between floors is steel and 3ft of concrete. Instead of installing 4 procurves and spending over $1000, I was considering throwing in some Picostations and keeping the cost around $250. Would I be disappointed if I went with the Picostations performance wise? Also realibility is also a need. The Procurves have lifetime warranties.

A coworker who is a network admin in our other location stated "you get what you pay for" and I would like to think that these devices would be worth taking the chance.

Can anyone give me their experience and input on the subject?

Thanks

You coworker may be right, but why not to try.
(Even nothing works the Financial damage isn't quite large
but if results ok then saving will be considerable)

Don't know how with Pico but NS2 uptime is > 90 days with no problems.
Clients < 10, traffic ~ 1-4 Mbit/sec.

Unless you have been tasked to make the decision, I'd stay out of the loop.

If someone asks why the less expensive UBNT wasn't used, you're not responsible for the answer.

If the UBNT doesn't work out, you're not responsible for the answer.

We went with the ProCurves and they work excellent. I am still considering the Pico for our public access.

What model of ProCurve are you using? How many clients can be connected simultaneously?
