Hello,

First of all, sorry for english mistakes or misspelling, it is not my main language.

I own a WISP in São Paulo, Brazil.

90% of my clients are curently using 2.4Ghz tecnology, but I want to use 5Ghz on all of them.

I already have about 20 Nanostation5 running and I like them very much, wich were the first Ubiuiti equipment I have ever used.

I want to know wich radio is best suited for my usage. I am thinking about using Powerstation5 for Point-to-Point backbones. Picostation5 or Bullet5 (with omni) por POPs. Each POP may have from 5 to 30 clients. In total there will be about 150 clients.

Distances are between 500m to 3000m. Clients up to 400kbps I am thinkng about using Nanostation5 loco, from 400kbps to 4Mb standard Nanostation5, 4Mb and up I am thinkng about Point-to-Point.

I appreciate any help I can get.
Thank you for yout time.

for PtP links i would suggest you to use Bullet5 with antennas, depending on your distance.

As a rule of thumb, use 5Ghz for transport, and 2.4 for distribution.
Clients mostly have 2.4 ghz equipment by default (laptops, smartphones, etc), and they trend to be cheaper.

hell, you can make your entire network with bullets :)

I'd use the Bullet 5 for the PtP links, even though its TPO is is around 3dB less than the Powerstation 5, the Bullet is certified for a 30 dBi antenna and the PS only 22 dBi.

I'd use the Bullet instead of the Pico as you can use a 12 to 14 dBi omni with the Bullet and only 6 dBi for the Pico. but country regulations may vary.
