Hello,
I finally decided to replace my useless WiFi-card inside my notebook. I would like to use the XR2. I opened my notebook to look how I can bulit in this card and now I've got 2 questions. First:As shown on the product-page this card has a ground wire. Where do I have to connect this to? To the GND of my notebook? Second: My old card has got 2 antenna-connectors. The XR2 has only one. How do I have to connect the build-in antenna of my laptop to the XR2? Should I just use one wire or simpliy connect both to the same connector on the XR2.

Thanks for your help.

Hey Sebastian,

This card wasnt really meant to be inside of a laptop. It might draw too much power and shut your system down.

But you Main antenna connector from your laptop (assuming its an MMCX connector) will plug into the XR2. The grounding does not need to be used inside of a laptop.

thank,s

Mike

Hello,
that is exactly my problem. I do not have a main antenna connector. I just have 2 wires. One is grey, the other one is black. and both have the same connector.
What do you mean with "wasnt really meant to be inside of a laptop". Can it damage my system? (i.e. my main board or monitor)

Thanks for your help.

Hello,

It will not damage your system, but our cards are generally larger (the heatsink) then what a laptop can handle.

Also the antenna connectors are different, and most laptops do not provide enough power to run these cards.

Thanks,

Mike
