Hi There

I need some advice to implement the cheapest and still reliable network layout at a customer. Please see the attached picture.

http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t235/shrick_photo/2009-04-05_155943.jpg

Site (A) will run a RB433 with 2 radios, one connecting to the base station (5.8Ghz) and another one distributing signal (2.4GHz) to (B) and (C).

My question is: What's the cheapest way to distribute signal to (B) and (C). Both structures (B & C) will have wireless clients inside that need to connect to the network.

My thoughts was to run PicoStation2's at (B) and (C), connecting via WDS to distribution point (A). I'm hoping that the signal of the PicoStations will be strong enough for the wireless clients to establish connections. If this is not the case, I'll probably have to add indoor AP's in both structure (B) and (C)?

Any other suggestions?

Thx.

cheapest and still reliableare often mutually exclusive....

I'd run Bullets all around with omni antennas and in WDS mode at 24 Mbps data speed (if your internet connection is 10 Mbps ) - other wise run a slower data speed that is at least twice your internet connection speed).

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

The internet speed is only 1mbs. What strength omni's would you recommend? The important thing is to have suitable signal strength within the houses/offices for the clients to be able to connect to the omnis.

O yes, the other thing is the security issue with WDS. I'll have to run a open access points? Are there ways to get around the security issue?

Thx

12 or 15 dBi omni will work.

Are there anything I can do about the security issue?
