Hi Peeps, a few Q's for the guru's

I have noticed on the UBNT website it states the Litestation-SR71 is sporting a 680MHz processor. I have however seen what appears to be conflicting info on other websites stating the Litestation-SR71 has only a 300MHz processor. Can someone please verify which is correct?

I have also seen pics of a Litestation-SR71 with 2 lan ports. I would rather have this than the boards with single lan ports which I currently have. Any chance this is something in the works?

Lastly, we are having alot of luck with the throughput of these boards so far, but the pings seem to hover around 30ms? Doesn't seem to matter if we are moving data or not, ping stays in the 30ms range. Is this a known problem/feature of some sort, have I done something wrong, or is it fixed in a version higher than we currently have (LS-SR71.ar7100.v1.0-11n.3940.081106.1954)?

After further testing, and toying with the Aggregation settings, I have found that this appears to be what is causing the 30ms pings. Of course when I deactivate the Aggregation, which is only 2 letters away from Aggravation, I get normal A speeds. That dog ain't gonna hunt.

Lil help would be nice about now :)

Hello,

I am looking into this in the lab and will let you know.

Thanks,

Guru's: It's now April, 2009. I am getting the 30ms pings with aggregation checked, 15ms with it unchecked.

I've got the two LS-SR71s sitting about 12" apart each with two 6" mmcx coax cables connected as antennae. Signal Strength is -65. Channel with is 11Na - 40mHZ

With Aggregation on, I get about 35mbps in each direction and 30ns latency. With it off, it drops to the expected 1ms ping and 24mbps...

THe 30ms latency is not acceptable under any circumstances. We have an OC-12 to the Internet with 1ms latency and only 8ms round trip ping to www.nyse.com.

My existing SR5 / StarOS based backbones have 1ms latency and 24mbps...

So, before I spend $200 each for 7 Pac Wireless Dual Pols and deploy these LS-SR71s with SR71As on them, I'd like some crisp assistance.

Mike Ford has reported speeds on his bench approaching 125mbps. I'll be happy with half that....How did he get it? What was his bench configuration....

Can I expect to get 60mbps with aggregation off? If so, why can't I get it on the bench?

Awaiting your replies....

Hey Guys,

We are still looking into the root cause of this and will have an updated firmware when we do. I really apologize for the problems you are having.

Thanks,

Mike

Guys,

So let me see If I get it, some people here are getting the LS with the sr-71?

I want to use these as AP's, we have around 70 NS's used as AP and we need to move to a more robust hardware.. a few questions:

1. Is the Lightning protection better on these than the NS?

2. Its obvious that has more power.. anyone here with some experience running them as AP?

3. I assume that theres no limitation on the AIR OS when using these units correct?

4. Are The Sr-71 -5 /2 available? Microcom says on june 09?

5. Is anyone using the larger POE's sold by UBNT?

Thanks,

Zed

o dear,

then i'm not the only one banging my head against a brick wall.

same simptoms, 35 megs and 30 ms pings.
funny enough, when i do a speed test the pings drop at 4 or 5 ms - maybe they are designed to work only in heavy duty :)

keen to get my hends on the latest firmware. the latest for nanos improved them a lot... i'm holding firm and optimistic.

cheers,
Steven

Got it working at 300M/300M in the office.

A quick test on site at 20Km showed them connected at 216M/216M and I really saw 100Mbps UDP one way (not full doplex) from a RB1000 to a RB1000 throught two LS SR71 in bridge mode using dual pol 23dBi ants. TCP is less.

Pings are still around 30

the fix was this post http://ubnt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10365 - i guess we only need to read but we're lazy sometimes.

i can't wait to see the units up and runing mounted on both towers.
i'll let tyou know

Regards,
Steven

Steven

Have you deployed these units yet?
what is your experience?, looks like from other posts
that there are a number of unstability issues.
