I should have been more specific. I don't mean phased array. What I have in mind is three sector antennas that service different area (so antenna1 cannot see users of antenna2 and 3 and so on):
1. Is MIMO still enabled when talking with 802.11b/g clients (in such case it would become MISO I believe)
2. would MIMO algos allow to communicate with (single antenna, 802.11b/g) clients even if each client can only see one of it's antennas. If that is true what would performance be like - would sensitivity on one antenna be comparable to single radio (as far as I know MIMO rx sensitivity increases by way of multiplexing the signal which would not happen in above scenario)
