LS2 in Ad-hoc mode

I have several LS2 radios that I'd like to put in ad-hoc mode. I'm using
Ubiquiti Air OS v3.3.2 but this firemware version does not support an ad-hoc mode.

What is the best approach to take in order to get my LS2's working in ad-hoc mode?

I would look into putting DD-WRT onto the boards.
