What type of audience (user / customer base) do you expect for this product? That is, who will be using the router and configuring its software. Are we talking your typical soccer mom or the guy with an IT degree and 20 years experience configuring routers?
My take on it is...neither one.
I'll say its the experienced WISP companies that would use it as part of their infrastructure...and a few may want to tweak it.
To make it soccer mom compliant, you'd have to reduce the input to a double click on the icons interface.
If you have to recompile a kernel every time you want to make changes...bad idea.

I'm just going to copy the heck out of AirOS.
If they don't score it over 9000 points they're basically calling themselves poop. ;)
Just print out the AirOs PDF file and give it to them.

I think they're secretly wanting you to copy the heck out of something from across the fence that we all know about

My only guess of what you could possibly mean is dd-wrt? As I can't think of any router UI that is universally respected or desired - that is commercial? dd-wrt is pretty much closed...
