Hello,
My name is Harsh, I just came to know about this contest now. I know its too late. But is it possible I can participate. (I don't have to start from ground zero). I have registered and was told that I will be informed in 2-3 days. What should I do.

Let me know,
Harsh

Hi Harsh,

It is not too late.. contest registration doesn't end until April 15th.

Also please note that entrants that applied for a complimentary Routerstation are subject to stricter and longer(4-6 weeks) screening than normal entrants...as noted in the confirmation email and on the registration page.

Thank you for the prompt reply Andrew, But the applicants can start working or they should wait for the confirmation?

Sure applicants can start working that have not been approved yet, but they should keep in mind that... they have not been approved yet.

Thanks Andrew,
One more thing. I have requested for the router. Does it mean that I will have to wait for 3-4 weeks to know if my registration has been approved or not? Or will I be informed about my registration sooner.

Thanks,
Harsh

OK.....no worries I will start working If my application doesn't get approved I will stop

Couple of questions though

Does Ubiquiti has a special preference over the layout of the screen

Does it have a preference on any specific colors.

Can you provide screen shots of previous user interface of Ubiquiti devices

Thanks,
Harsh

Should I just buy one? I've been putting this on the back burner the last few days, but in order to continue I need my hands on some hardware or some method of emulation.

As for methods of emulation, there are plenty of OpenWrt supported routers. .... less capable... which you should ideally target too ;)

Here is a list of the readily available and adapted ones. http://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=19475

They are slower CPU, only one fixed WLAN interface, and less RAM and FLASH... but same ar71xx CPU design... and I believe the same ath9k wireless driver that the target platform uses.

Perhaps Ubiquiti has outsourced their customer relations department and we're reading the result of poor english and D-Link-esque naivete.
