I was wondering what ubnt would think of producing a voip ata adapter / poe injector all in one.

I think it would look good if it was the same shell design concept as a nano and you could use one power supply (wall wart) to power the cpe radio as well as the voip adapter.

If the voip adapter part had
- ethernet output to go to client ap or pc
- ethernet output with the poe injected into it to go to cpe radio
- analog output for telephone
- power input to run both ata and cpe radio
it would be awesome. It would also make our cpe equipment more streamlined or more appealing in design.

Even if ubnt are not experts at creating voip hardware, one could be repackaged and a poe injector added into a ubnt concept design shell, it would work. Currently I am using the grandstream 486 which is ugly compared to what I think ubnt could make.

You request has no wireless aspect to it. My slightly different twist, would be a wifi SIP phone. As far as I know there are no Atheros based 802.11 SIP phones on the market. I'd love to have one if one existed.

Thats an awesome idea, although could it also be IAX compatible as i dont think you can have more than one sip phone behind a nat router. Correct me if im wrong?

I use a standard ATA hooked up behind the master jack so that they can then use any corded or cordless phone on any standard jackpoints in the house. Ideally I just want it to look the same. A cordless phone to add to the offerings to my customers would be great - again if it had the same design concept

I really believe that it's an awesome idea!
NanoStation including ATA (FXO).
