its good, but in my hume opinion you shouldn't support the use of openwrt (I mean all related with howto create APs and so on) but the way to upgrade firmware, the use of itself, more details about the configuration and access to redboot and so on...

But its good :D thank you

All patches made were given to Gabor Juhos (an OpenWRT/ar71xx developer) and most of these changes were incorporated.

I believe they changed the expected board ID from what we are actually emitting from our boot loader (hence people telling you to update redboot exec arguments).

People have got the latest RC2 of Kamikaze (head of trunk) working on the board.

The ready image you have sent which version is it? I mean, is it before RC2 ?

by another hand, do you know in which files appear the ID? Im patching the kernel manually and I have seen that in some places instead of "routerstation" appear rs and I remember in another place instead of Routerstation as your patch it was UBNT...

It is a good writeup. I would like to suggest more details on a) adding the UBNT-RS parameter into openWrt files and b) how to use mtd to flash newly built file.

Hi Mark

I booted new BETA release to my Router Station. I need to work with iptables and modul physdev. I recognize that this release hasn't this module inbuild as it is in versions of kamikaze 8.09. See web page

http://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=20369

Also version of kmod-ipt-extra that contain physdev module on page:
http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/ar71xx/packages/

can't be used because it use kernel 2.8.26.10 and BETA release use 2.8.26.9

Please could you give me some recomendation, how can I fix it?

How to compile kernel modul kmod-ipt-extra for BETA release?

Thanks

I just built with the latest Kamikaze trunk. To clarify the above, the GPIO pins should be addressed exactly as shown in the pinout for the RS in the Wiki (http://www.ubnt.com/wiki/index.php/RouterStation); i.e. 0, 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.

To be clear:

for f in $(seq 0 1); do echo $f >/sys/class/gpio/export; done;
for f in $(seq 3 7); do echo $f >/sys/class/gpio/export; done;

Also,

echo "0"

does not work at all to set it low. You have to use :

echo "low".

Although I really appreciate the resources available here, the SW_guide really needs to be updated or clarified based on more recent releases of OpenWrt. Incorrect or incomplete information really cause a lot of frustration.

The one overall suggestion that I would make would be that there is some sort of "latest information" sub-forum. Many (most?) times when I find information, it is outdated. Since there isn't much official documentation, it is really important that people know the HW/OS versions that are being referenced.

I need to download the SDK that's discussed in this thread but the links are broken. Can they be fixed please?

Well - this guide seems to have disappeared from your site. Is it available at a different URL?

Thanks!

Sorry, either someone has miswritten the URL, someone deleted/renamed the file you are looking for, or you typed in the wrong URL. Also, we have recently restructured our website so old outside links may have sent you to this page.

Thank you for your understanding. Cheers!

Weird... I noticed it was broken yesterday and fixed it, except I must have not really fixed it. :icon_smile: Regardless, should be fixed now.

Thanks,
Matt
