what i am researching is a way to get mobile internet from house to car. can't find anywhere that shows testing of this. was lookin into xr9's because of the speed, but not sure how it will do around buildings. so i was lookin into MURS data. but MURS data is very slow. I current have 2.4ghz system but the ground waves totally do not meet what the application would require. although i have a link at 7 miles on 2.4ghz line of sight. will 900mhz shoot more on the ground? I'm reading where long range cordless phones in the 900mhz range from 1 to 6 miles USA. but what i want is broadband wireless. any ideas? or should i just get EVDO? and pay monthly.

guess the good tech people dont read these forums everyday. or nobody knows. guess i'll test again like i did with GMRS/FRS repeaters 5 years ago. at 460-470mhz the area is very shady with 3watt. now we jump to 900mhz and it does what? get more shady in areas where buildings/trees are in the way? or does 900mhz go through this stuff?
the higher the frequency the harder it is to hold the signal in the coax. so i spent big money on the best that money can buy. and i can't get a single reply from only in these forums? you people that are stuck with limits of 5gigs from EVDO or 3G... just suck it up.
Six mile 900 MHz cordless phones? You bet...just like 25 mile *advertised* bubble pack GMRS/FRS radios.
Realistically, if you can get more than half a mile from an AP when in the car at 50% of your locations, you're doing good.
For what you want, you're better off use a cellular modem. EVDO or GSM.

I could cover almost 11,000 square miles (80 by 120 miles with just three UHF repeaters.
