Hi group,
Sorry to be so dumb here but after browsing the forum, I can't tell
if a Bullet is just another AP that will support other non-Bullet devices?

Can I use a WRT54G as a client??

Also, is there a URL that shows the Bullet UIs?

Hello,

It will i the Linksys supports AP/WDS mode. But off the top of my head I do not think the WRT54G can act as a client. There are other Linksys models that can.

Thanks,

Mike.

Mike.mike,
I am currently using a WAP54G as an AP with a WRT54G Client.
That is only because I lost my other WAP54G to lighting last winter.
I had a wireless bridge between the two WAP54G which worked great.
The WAP54G is running OpenWRT.

I would like to replace the WAP54G with a Bullet, bit I need to run it off of solar power. Can I use direct battery input to the Bullet? That would be 11-16VDC.

Hello,

Yes you can hook this to a solar source.

Thanks,

Mike

I gave up on trying to use DD-WRT's WDS mode with Proxim's most recent implementation so I'm now using DD-WRT as a client for bridging. Since I only have need for one bridge, this will hopefully save me a lot of hassle when I get the rest of the gear needed to replace my Proxim AP with my recently arrived bullet. To answer the original question, since DD-WRT is based on OpenWRT, I'd be surprised if its client mode doesn't work with an AirOS or any other AP.
