I currently have a 2.5 mile link using older cisco g gear. We are going VoIP and want to sent that over the link as well. I am having troubles googling and getting the info I need. I am nervous about the current link and sending the VoIP over it. The rate does drop down pretty far, pretty frequently and has lots of retransmits. I posted this here becasue I am considering going with a SR board to create a new link. Do I need to go full duplex? Will the higher bandwidth do the trick? The towers are 65 feet. Topo is in our favor will a nice valley at the mid point and the towers are on high spots at each end. Fresnel clearance looks good too. Oh yeah, the link is bwtween our main "campus" and our vineyard with poolhouse. Typically only 3-4 users but the poolhouse is used for meetings. I will end up deploying 5-6 VoIP phones out there as well.

TIA for any and all advice or pointers to info about running VoIP on wireless links.

Hello,

SR71 might be overkill for this link. It would work just as well using PowerStation 5's on each end, if you only have 4-10 user's with VOIP.

Thanks,
Mike
