Hi
many of our clients need a pptp client on bullet, when can we expect new AirOs release with pptp client support?

Best regards

Just tossing this idea out....you could try loading it on a reflashed Nanostation 2 with DD-WRT firmware.

Hello,

We do not have a timeframe for release of any PPTP. If this is a neccesity you can switch to DD-WRT as said above.

Thanks,

Mike

Well first of all pages are browsing very slow from both sides (wireless and ethernet) so that takes much more time for administration, also why should I need to pay extra money for using some other firmware, many of wireless routers have support for PPTP,L2TP, PPPOE with the basic factory firmware... also we have more then 20 active clients that need PPTP...

Heh, thanks Mike...

I think that it is very peculiar for ubnt representative to propose usage of alternative firmware. What is with warranty issue?

There are many users that will try to use DD-wrt and after installation and 24h testing want to go back to original factory firmware. In that case, they will have to use Factory firmware recover procedure.

As enterprise wireless VPN depends on pptp, and it is necessity for wireless survailance systems it would be good to see new release of AirOS with pptp support.

Hello Tangled,

At the point you switch to DD-WRT the support you get is very limited, as I cannot support there firmware. Also going back to our firmware,if there are any problems you would need to contact DD-WRT. As for the warranty the hardware is still covered by us.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

We are planning to use L2TP and PPTP too here. Can you give us a hint how easy it is to integrate functionalities in to the existing AirOS-UI. We have implemented L2TP for OPENwrt BASED plattforsm in the past but have not much Idea about the AirOS SDK.

Sorry Mike, but how much time consuming can be to implement pptpd-1.3.2 into AirOS for experienced guy? For what a timeframe you have? Is better to use e.g. Mikrotik with helpfull support or what we have to do if we do not want to experiment with dd-wrt?

Hello,

We have an SDK available if you need to put this module in. In the meantime you can use MikroTik routerboards, you can put OpenWRT on our units ect.

Thanks,

Mike
