Hi,

I would like to deploy PS5 for a point-to-point link for the range of 15km. anyone with experience how the product is with this distance? Is it stable and how the throughput like?
FYI, there is clear LOS.
Thanks,

At a 48 Mbps data speed, you will only have a 13 dB fade margin. Not a good sign.

At a 35 Mbps data speed, you will have a 20 dB fade margin. Acceptable.

At a 24 Mbps data speed, you will have a 25 dB fade margin. Robust

At a 12 Mbps data speed, you will have a 30 dB fade margin. Carrier class

Keep in mind, your actual data throughout speed is half your selected data speed above. That means if you have a 10 Mbps internet connection, you'll need the 24 Mbps data speed to enjoy it the full 10 Mbps of your internet connection

Hello,

Yes at 15kM, if you lock the data rates down, and have excellent antenna alignment they will work perfectly.

Please allow yourself enough fade margin per the above post.

Thanks,

Mike

Keep open the option of using the PS5-EXT with a 30dB antenna or better.

I was going to check to see what antenna gain the Powerstations were certified for, but could not find any FFC ID associated with a Powerstation. I'm going to guess its only the same as for the internal antenna of 22 Dbi.

Maximum output is supposed to be 53dBm which is what I'm assuming they certified for. I would only run the radio at 22dBm anyway and considering cable loss, 32dBm wouldn't be out of range. At that distance, I would take every dB I could get.

Actually the max EIRP for UNII-3 is 53 dBm directional antenna.

The Bullet is certified for a 30 dBi antenna (!!!), so at its highest power setting of 30 dBm, you'd have to back it down to 23 dBm when used with a 31 dBi antenna (30 dBi after you add one dB of connect/cable/lightning arrestor losses). 23 dBm + 31 - 1 = 53

WHT, you should know by now it's what I meant, not what I said.

You have to turn the PS5 down to 22dBm to get it to 54Mbps so that's the criteria I would use.

LOL...you outta know I knew that I knew what you meant.

I know that now but I didn't know that you knew what I knew about you knowing what I meant.
