View Full Version : PS2 was plugged into non-compliant POE/48V - Flashing LED

Learn from my mistakes...

Seems someone was a little careless and during an installation used a 48V POE adapter on one of my PS2s. It now refuses to do anything but flash the power LED. I'm sure this was somewhat due to being rushed on a Sunday evening, and I am wholly to blame here.

I presume it is dead, and I need to get it serviced. How should I proceed? I have semi-local access to the vendor, but wish to do what is best to get this unit available for install.

To others reading, PS2's do not like 48V, and installers should take Sundays off. :)

Thanks!

Taylor

Yup...its pretty much dead. By the time you find a replacement surface mount switching power supply chip, figure out what capacitor got blown...you're better of replacing it with a new one.

Yeah, that's what I have assumed. My question is can I have this unit repaired? It wasn't free, obviously, and while I am sure I have an LS2 sitting around somewhere I would rather UBNT handle the repair at a cost as opposed to letting it hit the trash... Couldn't have happened at a worse time, having troubles outside of CPEs involving my 900 setup. Seems a 900MHz Omni at 100' gets a lot of noise.

Hey Guys,

I do apoloize as we do not repair radios. Just pick up a spare LS2 and pop it in there. Youll be limited to one atenna connectins but better then a bricked radio.

Thanks,

Mike

Perfect! At least this spare LS2 can finally find a home!

This is a 17D unit, is there something I need to know/do regarding antenna connectors before I pop 'er open?

Thanks!
