hi,
we have 3 NS2, and will make one as AP, the others as WDS. So clients can connect to all those radio. We set first NS2 as AP-WDS (auto is checked) and so for the others. On second NS2, all people can connect perfectly. But while we add the third NS2, this radio sometime can ping the first NS2 but mostly timeout.

can you help please ? is there any interference as we put all of them with standard config ? do we need to change the two of radios as WDS ?

thanks,

I am having a similar problem with the NanoStation5. On the 2nd AP-WDS I cannot get the unit to route traffic to the Internet Gateway which is connected to the 1st AP-WDS. They are set as bridges not as routers. If I change the 2nd AP to Station-WDS mode it works fine but I cannot "tack" anymore stations for my wireless chain.

Am I missing something? I checked out the wiki but could not find any definite answers to this problem. Do you have to use routing to make this work? I would rather use bridges.

Sorry klinklut, I am anwering your questions with my own questions. Maybe someone else can help both of us.

Thanks

But while we add the third NS2, this radio sometime can ping the first NS2 but mostly timeout. Is it possible that this radio is actually connecting to the 1st NS2 directly and bypassing the 2nd NS2? You might check and see if you used security on the 2nd AP and not the first and vice versa.

I am still a UB newbie so I am mostly shooting in the dark.

I realize I may be talking to myself here but I found the solution to my problem in this thread:

You cannot use WPA-2 and make AP-WDS to AP-WDS work. It has to be unsecure or WEP (which is unsecure). :(

Sorry to hijack this thread.
