New to the Ubiquiti equipment. we just got in a few of the ns5 and testing those has gone good so far. I have a pair of ps5 coming today, integrated antennas, and wondering if anyone has feedback on what I can expect for speed and distance for a link. I am wanting to add these for additional bandwidth on my current link of 1.7 miles(using moto ptp 400 5.8ghz). It is not a complete los shot, but the moto gear I am getting -65 dbm signal. I have another link that I may use these that will be los at 2.2 miles, what can I realistically expect to see(would like to be able to get 20mb/s). Thanks much for any help.

As with any wireless, if you don't have sufficient Fresnel clearance, much less clear line of sight, all bets are off.

With that said, here are some predicted expectations:

At a 24 Mbps data speed setting in the PS5 shooting to a NS5, you should see about -53 dBm signal level. that about 33 dB over the NS5 receiver sensitivity at 24 Mbps, so that's a very good shot. Of course, you'll get less with a non-LOS path.

Running the numbers again with a 2.2 mile shot, we see a predicted -56 dBm received signal level, which is 30 dB over the receiver sensitivity. Again, thats a very good shot.

Keep in mind, a 24 Mbps data speed is means you see a 12 Mbps speed test.
