Not really a feature request but figured this would be the best spot for it.

A 1w amp using an RF Mirco RF2126 1.3w 2.4ghz amp.

Have a look.

Amplifiers, bi-directional or otherwise, just create more problems than they solve. Ask any WISP owner.

Whats the difference between a bullet 100mw with a 1w amp and a bullet 1w. I always assumed they would be almost identical.

The Bullet's 6th generation Atheros chipset is rated at 1 watt, its optimized from the start. Adding an external amplifier creates its own garbage.

Take it from me, a co-author of the page sited... just what they told you. There is very little advantage.. If your trying to overcome a path loss issue with an amplifier that's likely the wrong approach.

The purpose of that page was more a proof in concept type of thing, to show that such a thing could be built, affordably.

In my case I needed to get through about 10 cinder block walls, but you are right, more power is rarely the right answer.

ROFL....Try to explain that to Captain Kirk. "I need more power, Scottie!"
