What do the signal leds do when the bullet5 is used as an AP for a ptp link?

If they indicate signal, how often do they update?

I was setting one up yesterday, and observed 30-seconds to a minute delay in response if they are used for signal in such a setup.

Thanks!

Hello,

They Indicate incoming signal strength. I will try and reproduce the 30 second delay though.

What version of the firmware is on the device?

Thanks,

Mike

It was the 3.2.3rc version.

The other end was a rb433/cm9 with 3.17 on it. Used 10mhz channel size, 3dbm output power, about 1 mile link.

Thanks!

jp498...

What I would do is try a pass/fail test to verify its an actual delay. Place a metal pie pan, square of aluminum foil, whatever in front of the unit a few inches away and see how long it takes for the LEDs to shift.

If there are some traffic than LEDs are updated on each RXed packet. But if there was no traffic than LEDs be updated (switched off) with some delay. In fw version up to v3.2.3 it could take up to some minutes.
That problem is fixed in 3.3 beta fw and in worse case (unexpected client disconnection) it will take up to 30seconds max.

That's probably it, there was no traffic on the link of course, since it was a brand new link and I was outdoors with the gear and no ethernet cable yet connected to indoors. I'll use the newer firmware for future link testing. Thanks!
