Guys,
I am having problems working out if i should be buying Bullets or Loco's for my environment?

I am looking at providing a private WLAN (maybe public later) not necessarily connected to the internet across a motocross track.

i will have a central point (but not necessarily central to the site) that needs to conect with max 5 stations around the track, max link distance 1KM. It all needs to be mobile as nothing is permanent. Arrive in truck on Saturday, setup, races on Sunday, tear down and leave.

My first thought was to use Bullets all round, but should i be considering a central Bullet (on a pole next to the race truck) with Loco's at each of the stations?

Use a Bullet with omni antenna and Locos for the remotes.

WHT, thanks thats just what i wanted!

Now i have the problem of getting hold of these items as i cannot seem to be able to find a reseller here in the UK.

Do you know of any, or recomendations for a reseller who will ship internationally?

Finally managed to get this up and running!

We are using the kit to provide a local WLAN at MotoX race meetings, mainly to provide live timing screens to the commentators and the mechanics work-area.

here is the Bullet on the top of our race truck

and here is the commentator position (its a Asus eeeeeeBox PC with the screen image rotated on a 19" screen). NB AirOS on screen.

Thanks WHT!

Yes the Bullet and Loco work well, we have only tried it across really short distances so far, (couple of hundred metres, max).

As you can see the setup is all a bit Heath Robinson so far, we need to sort out better mounting for the Antenna pole (its just tie-wrapped to a convient handle on the back of the truck). The cables need tidying up, either taped to the mast or does anybody know where to get those nice metal U clips that have a bobble for the cable to sit in?

At the last MotoX meeting (where the images came from) the Loco was actually inside the commentary truck looking at an angle through a large perspex window, but it still got a good signal.

At Homo Depot and Lowes in the electrical section, they have stainless steel clips. Also in the TV cable section they have a different type.
