I'm looking for 10 Bullet2's that I can get shipped today for delivery on the 26th (2nd day)
I sure wish I could just send Ubiquiti $400+shipping and actually get the units. The hardest part of my job involves chasing "resellers" around trying to get the stock I need.
Meraki has the right idea [about sales] - too bad [everything else about] their product sucks.
Think about it....The Bullet 2 is only $39. One would expect the dealers are paying close to $30 to $32 per unit in quantity lots of hundreds of units. IF UBNT were to enter the direct supply chain, they would bear the burden of stocking and sales..which costs money to support. So any "giving profits away" would be eaten up by that support.

And its magically free for resellers to do the same?
End result is it doesn't look like I'll be getting what I need. I've been on the phone with everybody and it comes down to:
A> they don't have them
B> they have no idea when ubiquiti will be shipping them theirs, or more.
I dunno... if I got them at $35/ea, I'd buy a 50 box *right now* (assuming they'd be delivered reasonably soon). Maybe 100...

Did you try Streakwave? They just shipped two out to me on Monday. Supposed to get them in my hands tomorrow.
No, the resellers pay for the support costs out of their markup. Plus their inventory storing and sales costs are spread out over a wide range of other products.
I really don't think UBNT ships dealers any inventory, most likely the units are shipped to the dealers direct from the manufacture.
Considering the incredible success of the Nanostation, and the subsequent dismal ability to meet the demand...I'm sure UBNT will make sure that doesn't happen again with the LoCo and Bullet.

What is said here is correct.
Thanks,

Paul @ streakwave says: Out of stock with no clue when they'll be getting more. My testing units came out of the 'wave' that shipped before yours.
If anyone is looking for Nanostations, apparently Metrix has a bunch they're looking to get rid of..

Except for a couple larger (usually overpriced) exceptions, I believe all the resellers are actually just WISPs with a shipping department.
Its a vicious cycle... "I need gear at a good price, and to do that I gotta buy 1000+ units" turns into "oh snap, I need to get rid of this stock since we just didn't happen to get 1000 sales overnight, and the tax man wants his piece *and* the equipment is depreciating by the day!"... then you need more gear... Then you need to sell some...
Personally, if I wanted to be a reseller I'd go get a job with TechData with benefits and a retirement package. I'd think most WISP people feel the same way.
Whats so hard about shipping a case (48? 64? 96?) of something from .cn or .sg or wherever the gear is made? I mean, obviously its not that expensive, I've purchased $3 items off ebay with free shipping from Hong Kong and the seller didn't lose anything on the deal - of course it did take a whole 8 days to get here, via snail mail...

The pricing from all the major dealers I've seen is consistently the same and I don't see the Nanostation priced at $79 overpriced to comparable products from other manufactures cost two to three times as much.
There may be some WISPs out there that are reselling UBNT products, but very few can afford the inventory overhead that a major dealer can afford. Even if they could, I can see them charging more than a major dealer. But if those WISPs' "shipping departments" are nothing more than an intermediate drop shipment from a major dealer, then they will have the same supply issues as dealer has.
"Its a vicious cycle... "
True, there may be some WISPs buy large quantities for the discounted pricing and then selling their left over inventory, and if they can sell it for a higher price because the major dealers are out of stock, so be it. Its an investment on their part that paid off.
Manufactures don't want to sell in piecemeal lots, may it be even a hundred units. It cost the same to process a hundred unit order as it does a thousand unit order, but it would cost ten times as much to process ten times as many orders.
