Quick question. I like to make my own cable assemblies and I was wondering about the external antenna connectors on the NS2. It's a RP-SMA correct? Does this mean I need to get RP-N connectors to hook to a standard grid? or just plain N connectors?

Yes and no (a typical geek answer)...

As of summer '08, NS were shipping with the Rev SMA Female, but as far into fall of '08 some people were reporting they were still getting older stock with the Standard SMA connector.

More than likely if you order by now, you'll get the Rev SMA connector.

Now for the other end of the cable to connect to your antenna...THAT depends on your antenna connection. It has NOTHING to do with the radio end connector.

All my Nanostations have the Rev SMA on the radio end, and I have cable assemblies that have a Male N, some a Female N, Male or Female SMA...what ever it takes. And one LSMFT connector.

So here's another question..... does it say RP-SMA next to the connector when it is? If not how does one tell?

Ahh, was wondering if the connector being RP on one end of the cable was making it something like a crossover cable or something, but I guess that was kind of a stupid question.

And what the heck is a LSMFT connector?

You have to physically look at it and compare it to a picture.

LSMFT - Lucky Strike Means Fine Tobacco - Its when you "smoked" a connector.
