Hey All,

I have a couple of questions on the technical requirements for the challenge. I've started my entry and need some clarifications on the items below...

- BGP Routing :: The unit does not have enough memory to store full BGP routes. Is it ok to force a hard limit on routes?

Layer7 Firewall :: Can you give us an idea of what you are hoping to filter at the application layer?

- TCPDump :: Does the interface need cap and display tcpdump output in real time or can it capture for X and then prompt the user to download the cap?

- Is it ok to use flash or other browser add-ins for the interface? Say for graphical traffic stats

thanks!

1. Yes you can implement a hard cap on BGP routes.
2. We are looking for an Application-Gateway firewall and the addition of Application-Proxy firewalls.
3. TCPDump just requires capture for X and then prompt the user to download.
4. Yes, as long as this does not compromise stability.

Thank you,

Mike

Poor Mike.

You're getting all the flak from this thing.

1. Nope. you gotta invent a new super-duper compression algorithm.
2. Everything, anything, and anything new in the future.
3. Cap is good, but no-Cap is better. Y is the new X.
4. No. Flashing in public is illegal. It is OK in private between consenting adults.
