Hello all, just need a little advice on setting up a neighborhood internet access. To make a long story short, my Mother lives in a Retirement Housing area. Most, if not all of the occupants cannot afford to purchase wireless High-Speed internet. I pay for my Mothers internet service now . I would setup all of the residents service. Would cover about a city block in size? Just asking for suggestions on what to purchase/setup. Appreciate any and all suggestions.
If its only a city block...I'd set up a central AP with the Powersation and external moni antenna and use the Nanostation LoCo radios for the clients.
Unless my demographic estimates are off, I don't see your potential users downloading lots of YouTube, so bandwidth management should not be an issue.

No Youtube to be downloaded there, believe me. My Mother was showing some of her new friends, how she pays her bills online. Most of these Senior Citizens come over to my Mothers' apartment to use her High Speed cable IP. Some of them have "dial up" Internet, but all have been shocked by the Cable speed. I expect I might get between 5 to 15 of them, depending on how much it would cost me. These old ladies cannot pay for anything themselves, as I told my Mother I would try to work something out for them, a few at a time. Thanks for your help.

Would there be a preference as far as the AP antenna is mounted ? Or would the antenna be omni-directional ? Thanks again for the response.
Go with a centrally mounted omni antenna.
