Random question... What do you guys prefer?
Omni setup etc 13dbi to a powerstation2 or 2.4 high power card
or
Sector setup with Nano station 2's with different channels
Both examples but you get what i mean.
I don't think its a matter of preference, but of AP client loading as the compelling factor.
Here in the U.S, the ERIP limit would be the same.
30 dBm TPO + 6 dBi omni antenna = 36 dBm good for like 35 clients
24 dBm TPO + 12 dBi sector antenna = 36 dBm good for 105 clients on three sectors

you are always more susceptible to noise interference when using omni's
when you are deploying sectors you better make sure you have the right vertical and horizontal beamwidth or may not get the area coverage you want:
typical omni - 360degH & 120degV
typical sector - 60/90/120degH & 4-8degV
also ensure when deploying sectors you get the right mechanical tilt which will define your inner and outer cell radius
:D

To qualify that...If the noise or interference was coming from the same direction your sector was pointed, it should not be inferred that switching from an omni to a sector would be an improvement.

i was not saying that moving to a sector would be of benefit
all i was trying to get over was that the greater the horizontal beamwidth the more susceptible you are to noise from co or adjacent channels
sorry if you misinterpreted my response WHT
:D
I was just pointing out in case anyone were to jump to the conclusion that replacing an omni with a sector would always solve interference problems.
