Municipal or Citywide wifi Network

I intend going into a citywide wifi network project in 2009, I like Ubiquiti, but unfortunately they don't produce mesh radios which is what i need. I understand that they previously had it but it was discontinued.

I am wondering why they should stop the production of a mesh radio. Is there any plan to continue the production?

Just curious....how many square miles do you want to cover? What is your budget? Will it be free or for pay?

Hello Ani,

Our AP-One product was discontinued because it was not meant for FULL Municipal wifi deployments, and due to the cost every tried to use it for this purpose. The units were capable of about 6 nodes MAX but people insisted on try to use 25 nodes or more and this posed a support nightmare. So it was decided to discontinue the product.
