Since 11am this morning Ive been trying to connect One nanostation to the other nanostation...

On the roof... One nanostation with a 24dbi grid. setup as Access Point/ no password no nothing

With my laptop One nanostation with built in antenna. setup as a station aka CPE.

I live at a highpoint and can see most the area i spend my time in...

I can see and the signals to both points are full bars (2km were i tested from)

Just can't get into the network / access internet from either sites. I played around and managed to get into the control panels from either side...

Laptop ip is static (192.168.1.50 and the rooftop antenna ap is connected to a adsl modem with dhcp (10.1.1.1, range to 225)

Any ideas? In full detail please!!

Basic... Start again.
Reset both units on you desk.
Connect your laptop to unit 1
AP settings:
-set as AP
-set on channel 11
-set your SSID (for ex. FILMS)
-set IP at 192.168.1.100
-leave as Bridge
-still AP powered.

Connect your laptop to unit 2
Client settings:
-set as STATION
-scan for you AP in "select" tab
-select your AP SSID (for ex. FILMS) an apply changes
-set IP at 192.168.1.101
-leave as Bridge
... that´s all.

On second step, you can add security to you link

set WPA2 in BOTH UNITS.... with the same phrase.

Now you can go out and try to connect in the field.
For 2 Km is not necessary an external antenna.

Well %80 of that helped anyway!

I can now do everything but surf the net.

Ive set 192.168.1.1 as my ADSL modem ip.

I manged to access stuff on the internet via ip.. google worked via the ip not domain.

Ive setup opendns on each of the devices and no go

Dns on the modem is point towards open dns aswell.

Anything on wireless can't access internet, only network.

Hello,

Please verify your DNS settings, you gateways settings and that you are not having an IP address conflict.

Thanks,

Mike
