View Full Version : serial port baud rate parity etc?
Gidday, we're just trying to make sense of the serial port, what baud rate is it by default, is it set to on by default?
Regards
Dan
Usually when faced with an unknown serial port, I start connecting with the fastest port speed and keep changing it until I see plain text characters. Unless you've changed it in the firmware, that would be your default speed.
Rarely, but on occasion ...I have to try something other than 8,n,1.
sweeet as, i think we've found it on 9600 8,N,1
hrm, actually it just brings up random characters on that, we're nearly there ;-)

Hello Dan,
The rate is 9600 8/N/1 but you need a RS232 transceiver chip to get the information correctly.
Thanks,
Mike
sweet as, thanks for that, got it all sorted with a MAX232
