We are using NanoStation5 at the moment and we are happy with the results. For customers within 4km can we use NanoStationLoco5? Are the 2 products indentical except for distance from basestation?

Thanks for the answers.

The only differences are:

1) Loco is physically smaller.

2) Loco data sheets says 13 dBi internal antenna, NS is 14 dBi.

3) Loco has no external antenna port, NS does.

4) Four thou shall not count, neither count to two, except that thou shall proceed to three.

A ONE dB difference in antenna gain is negligible, if not even discernible.

The loco station2 has an external connector on the board itself.

All that is needed is a pigtail with the proper rf connectors on both ends, and then you'll be able to use it with an external antenna. :D

There must be a way to switch to the other antenna port thru command line?

Open a Loco and you'll see what I'm talking about. Red arrows show where the antenna port is located.

Yeah...but you'd have to pimp the SDK to use it.

Yes that's true or?

Ubnt could implement an antenna port selection option in the AIROS GUI configuration?

Hey Guys,

That is just a test port and is not accessible from firmware.

Thanks,

Mike

And how long do you think it'll take me to pimp the hardware for an external port.

The connector looks like a MS156 http://www.hirose.co.jp/cataloge_hp/e35802068.pdf testconnector with an integrated switch.
It's not a second antenna connector as plugging in the plug disables the internal antenna.

I have a set of Hirose test connectors, but don't have the time to do anything. Besides it would be only an academic test as the units aren't type certified for that.

I agree here.
