View Full Version : Very low transmit CCQ and high ping times

We have a mainly deliberant network and as soon as we started adding PS we started getting high ping times (500ms or more) and not much throughput. The dlb AP ack is set to 91 and that's how we normally set cpes. I tried some manual ack timeouts on the PS with not much improvement. Setting the interference mode to 802.11 seems to be helping but the transmit ccq is in the 1 to 3% range. The ap's all show a good connection, so I'm wondering what's going on with the ccq?

Thanks,

Pat

here's my settings on one PS in the network (connected to a tranzeo ap at this point):

Hey pat,

let me know if what we spoke about on the phone works.

Thanks,

mike

I think it may have helped, but I also changed the multicast data rate to 2mb/s fixed instead of allow all and that may be helping as well.

Thanks,

Pat

Ping times are still bouncing around a lot with some drop outs and I'm not sure I've fixed anything. Which interference mode would you recommend? I have some hopping in the area, but mostly other 802.11 from home routers and our other aps.

Also, I can not get the speed test to work at all - it states 'connection problems'

thanks,

Pat

Hey Pat,

I would recommend to try the following:

1) lock down the data rates to a maximum of 36Mbps.

2) Set the ACK timeout to static and at 100% of the distance of the link.

3) Change the AP channel.

Let me know how that goes.

Mike

For 1 customer I am able to keep the ping times in check (less than 50ms), but with a timeout every 5 to 10 replies and it takes forever to log into her radio remotely (connected to DLB AP). For 2 other customers I'm back to high ping times (they are connected to a new Tranzeo AP). Is this an atheros vs realtek thing? Any other suggestions?

I have these radios set to 802.11 traffic noise immunity is this a bad idea?

We have a mix of DLB and HGA cpes in our network which are generally realtek - when we have problems it's generally due to los (if we could just cut down that 150 yr old tree) or a bad radio (replacement fixes it). In the case of the PS it's pretty much the same problem for every install (about 20 now and they can't all be 'broken')

Thanks,

Pat

Hey Pat,

Try and lock the data rates down further, try Conservative rate algorithm, and try standard 802.11 noise immunity settings.

Thanks

Mike
