just wondering how to setup a scenario here.

I unfortunately do not have LOS to the location I need to broadcast to due to pine trees. We live in a small town of 5000, our place is close to the downtown sector where there is an almost 3 storey building. I'm going to BE speaking with the owner about setting up a NPR mount so i can broadcast to the other side of town to the community hall.

So i know i can broadcast from our place to the 3 storey building, i have LOS. I need to know how to setup the link to the 3 storey building and then broadcast that signal to the Hall.

Correct me if i'm wrong. Also I am using NS5.
my place -> AP WDS .20
the distance between my place and the 2 storey building is 50 yards.
2 storey building -> AP WDS x2 .30&.40 one will face my place the other the community hall.
the community hall would be roughly 1/2 mile LOS.
Community Hall -> Station WDS .41

I did notice that when in AP WDS mode it is asking for Peers. Will this be both AP's WDS on the 2 storey roof or just the one .30 facing my placing?

Could i get away with using only one AP WDS on the roof of the 2 store?
Could I possibly set it up as AP WDS -> Station WDS -> plugged from LAN to LAN on the POe's -> AP WDS -> Station WDS.

thanks for your time everyone.

The peer is the radio you are talking to. I will say that we have had pretty good success shooting through Pine Trees. I have a 1000' shot going through 4 pine trees with no issues that's been up for a year. However, we are in a dry climate with no snow so it's a crap shoot there.

Your scenario should work fine. I would use 5's instead of 2's though, unless you just want residual 2.4GHz coverage off the antennas.

Hey Gooszer, pine trees are easy to climb.

I'm still setting up the other end, i'm working on a NPR (NonPenetratingRoofmount), with about 20 foot pole. Unfortunate thing about this situation is I need to remove the Station side every week as the town won't allow me to leave it hooked. I'm hoping to try it over the weekend.
As for climbing trees, it's not my tree(s), neighbors kitty corner to me...

The operative phrase is "station side".

Let them issue a citation to force you to take it down.

Take it down as it is a legal order.

At the next city council meeting, ask them the legal name of the city as the Federal Communications Commission's General Counsel needs it before he can bring legal action against the city for violation of Section 207 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996: Restrictions on Over-the-Air Reception Devices.
