Hi

Will the SR7 range cards work on Mikrotik routerboards?
The LitestationX seems to be the only board you mention, but I would like to have the option of adding more than one card on a routerboard.

Hello Foamz,

If you are referring to our SR71 product line, the MikroTik RouterOS does not currently support it. They have stated that they are working on there N/MIMO support but they do not have a timeframe for it.

Thank you,

Mike

They have been working on that support for quite some time now. I wonder when they will finish it. The Mikrotik guys had a test unit, N/MIMO, unit on display and running at the Orlando MUM last May. I wonder what the hold up is?

Hey Slipstream,

Ya I saw that while I was at the MUM also. I wish I did know what the holdup was, i have a lot of user's asking.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi,

If mikrotik does not suport 802.11n, with the SR71-5, what product does?
Thankyou

Hello,

Our LSX board will support our Sr71 based cards.

Thanks,

Mike

I have no n card to try, but if someone has, the n-band is available in MikroTik console:

[pinam@PM] > /interface wireless set wlan1 band=
2.4ghz-b 2.4ghz-g-turbo 2ghz-10mhz 2ghz-5mhz 5ghz-10mhz 5ghz-5mhz
2.4ghz-b/g 2.4ghz-onlyg 2ghz-11n 5ghz 5ghz-11n 5ghz-turbo

Hi,

Yes, the 11n band options has been there since ROS 3.0RCx but I tried with a 802.11n ralink chipset card and it wasn't detected.

It seems that the option now is to use the LSX but it is not available yet. At least on the provider I'm using.

ddwrt supports the AR9160 chipset -> most N-cards will work out of the box eg compex, ubnt and others

Sash, can you please explain further what exactly "supports" means? I have some SR71A's and a few Cambria's here with DD-WRT and can't get anything more than normal A speeds. I have sent and received a few emails to/from DD-WRT people and so far I am being told no support yet.

support means that that the card will work in standard a/b/g/h operation with turbo mode and the other stheros fatures.
no n-mode since its currently not supported by madwifi/hal
