Hi

I have been having problems with both Nanostation5's and Powerstation5's. When ever I make a change to the configuration and apply it the units locks up completely. The only way to recover the unit is to power it off and on. I have had this problem on several Powerstation5's and also on a Nanostation5. All these units are new and just out of the box. I have only noticed this since upgrading the units to Air OS v3.0 - PowerStation5 and Air OS v3.0 - NanoStation5. This lock up occurs on LAN and WAN side. After power off the configuration has not been changed remaining in pre-apply state. This happens for any change made and applied.

Never seen this issue and I have alot of ubnt gear
the settings do take approximately 45 sec to a minute+
to save then reboot the unit and then a bit more time for the unit to
scan for the ap and reconnect wirelessly
So it sounds like your not waiting long enough and by cutting the power it doesnt get chance to save and apply the changes

Hi.

I have had this problem on all the PowerStations that I have upgraded to V3.0. I initially thought the same that I was not waiting long enough for the unit to reload so I left one for 3 hours. When I make any changes (even simple ones like host name) click change and the change pop-up screen appears, the change bar goes across and completes but the Main screen does not refresh. At this point the unit does not respond to ping or web access either via lan IP or wireless IP. It also does not respond when pinging from our Mikrotik access point. The only way to recover is to power the unit off/on, then, when I check, the changes have not been applied. I have tried using different PC's in case it was a PC glitch which it isn't. I have tried to down grade the firmware to the pre V3.0 level but even though it says that it is doing the downgrade, the units remain on V3.0. This problem is not intermittent and is easily reproduced. I was setting up a unit yesterday and I could not set the wireless IP address. Every time I tried to the unit locked up. The only way to change the IP was to modify a config file and upload it to the unit. This is NOT an IP issue as I cant find the unit using a discovery tool

I also noticed at that time it is not possible in V3.0 to save a config file to PC. All that happens is that it opens a pop-up window containing the config. Copying this and saving it as a .cfg file does not work as it says it cannot recognise the file when trying to upload it to the unit.

Is anyone else having similar problems with V3.0 / 3.1.1

if you can update to 3.2 the config file problem is fixed it
will now be a downloadable .cfg file

When you say I have tried to down grade the firmware to the pre V3.0 level but even though it says that it is doing the downgrade, the units remain on V3.0.
Are these PS2s
As i recall there were some major file changes in the firmware between 2.1.1 and 2.2 that prevented me from loading oswave firmware a while back that may explain why you cant go below v 3.0 if you are trying load 2.1 http://forum.ubnt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1857&highlight=#1857

I may be wrong here but it was either powerstation or tranzeo, but I think power stations that you had to upgrade each version one at a time or you end up with problems. so you couldnt go from say version 1 to 3 without first loading 2. Try downloading all software updates and do one of them each update at a time and see if that works for you.

I’m having the same trouble. When I upgrade the firmware the radio in AP mode will lock up if I’m using WPA and or WPA 2. I have been working with Ubiquiti for the last 30-day and I hoping that the next new firmware release will fix this trouble.

What version of the firmware are your units running now
recommended would be 3.3.1`

Well the radio that I’m using as a AP in the Bullet 2 HP and the first firmware that I see that works {per the support web site} is V323 and that is what I have gone back too for now. It seams to me when you up grade the firmware there is some corruption when the new firmware is up loaded. i.e. It will not wipe out all the old setting. Per Mike Ford on a firmware upgrade your setting will be deleted! …. Not the case! The factory is calling it a memory leak … OK so what is the fix? Yes I’m uploading the firmware by TFTP

Thank
Eric
