Why do you reluctantly, via telnet?

You can do that persistent. But I do not suggest to use MAC changing because it can make device working in the way that is not expected.

IF YOU REALLY KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING THEN:

echo "sed -i -e 's#/sbin/wlanconfig \"ath0\" create#ifconfig wifi0 hw ether XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX; /sbin/wlanconfig \"ath0\" create#' /etc/sysinit/radio.conf" > /etc/persistent/rc.prestart
cfgmtd -w -p /etc/
reboot

Where XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX is your new MAC address.

Sorry to dig up such an old thread but to change the WLAN MAC, do I telnet in the above code and will the MAC go back to the default if I reset the Nano? Also, how do you mean it can make the device not work properly?

Thanks.

Hello,

As we do not support changing of the MAC address we do not know if it will cause firmware issues. If it does then there is not much we can do to help.

Thanks,

Mike

It tried telnetting in that code and then it reboots but I don't think it did anything? or does really change but the default MAC stays on the web interface?

Thanks.
