it would be handy if we got a legit kext for the srx.

this process does actually work, thought the card comes up with a menu bar button for express card, that says unknown vendor, ethernet controller.

also the card must be installed at boot it seems, and cannot be removed and reinstalled without reboot. seems to me a kernel extension that supports reinsertion, tells me it's a ubnt srx, etc. shouldn't be that hard to do.

i'll trade somebody a free developer ticket to wwdc, for a kext that does the appropriate things with the driver. pm me.

Hello,

This method doesn't work with Leopard 10.5.3.

Cheers,

Hello,

I second that. No chance to get this card to work with 10.5.3.

Which sucks to say the least, I just purchased it to use on vacation where WiFi is weak and it does not work.

Any ideas how to get it working?

Regards

Mike,

Guidance on that page suggests that 10.5.1 is the only version of Leopard on which this has been shown to work, and that specifically 10.5.3 or later does not presently work. I am on 10.5.6, is there no hope for me?

I'm a relatively technical person, and I'm very motivated to try to get this to work, but I'm really battling a steep learning curve here.

According to the number of views on this sticky thread it seems there's a lot of interest in this topic, but sadly I would have to say that the claim on the SRX's product page that says newer Mac OS laptops are supported used to be right, but is not right any longer.

Has anyone had any luck lately with this card and a Mac?

Hello,

Unfortunately we do not provide direct support for MAC OSX. This guide was only put up at the request of the user community. The product pages will be update to show that this procedure works only for 10.5.1. We do no internal testing on MAC OSX so only have our user's to reply on for getting these to work/support.

Thank you,

Mike

Hi, I can confirm that the SR-71-e mini pci express card works out of the box in Snow Leopard. I have it installed in my macbook 5,2 (Summer 2009). It should work out of the box with any intel macintosh and those that are running a hackintosh using snow leopard. Just a little FYI.
