Hello all,
I am new here so please bear with me.
I have established a 16 mile transparent bridge to get some bandwidth to a remote tower. It is 2.4Ghz 802.11 (obviously). I have clear LOS and a -73 signal strength (noise floor in low 90's) so I hope my throughput will be acceptable. What I would like is some opinions on tweaking the firmware to make the link as stable as possible. I know virtually nothing about this gear as all my previous experience has been with Canopy. Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

there is no tweaking, it's an interface that any stupid can understand...all you need is to find a good channel.

apparently there is SOME tweaking....
auto ACK timeout disabling......narrowing channel width........

any others?

thats not tunning, thats settings...if you want to see tunning try mikrotik sistems.

You could cap the maximum TX speed to avoid costant re-negotiating of speed.

I am in the same boat. All of my equipment is motorola. I have a pair of nanobridge m5's, and have them set up testing them. I would like to try them on a 7 mile hop, but am worried about performance and reliability. One of the threads said that his link stays up for 5-10 hours, and I have ptp's that have been running for nearly 300 days with no downtime at all. Help and suggestions are appreciated.

My first question is whether there
is a specific problem; is this link
not stable?

If not, you can try a few changes
to improve it. If it is stable, why
not enjoy it? Dave

The link IS pretty stable. I am just a little paranoid about it and was wanting to do all I could to improve/maintain that stability..
