It should be legal to use Nanostation5 in Austria while operating in the
802.11a channels: 36, 40, 44, 48 (indoor).
52, 56, 60, 64 (indoor) and 100, 104, 108, 112, 116, 120,
124, 128, 132, 136, 140 (Indoor/Outdoor) channels are legal in European Community countries also. (max 200 mW EIRP for Lower indoors channels)

On Nanostation2 you can use any channel from 1 to 13.

Unfortunately in Europe we need some more than 802.11a to be legal.
Here they require 802.11h, that add Dynamic Channel/Frequency Selection (DCS/DFS) e Transmit Power Control (TPC) to 802.11a.

Is UBNT aware of ETSI requirements? Do you plan to fulfill them?

Thanks

802.11h option control should be available in FW version 3.2.

Thank you.

Hello,

so far I only see DFS in 3.2 but no TPC.
But DFS introduces a new issue in its current form:

It's using channels 36-64 which are not allowed for outdoor-usage according to http://www.rtr.at/de/tk/Spektrum2400MHz/Info_WLAN_2005_09.pdf
Unfortunately it's in German but basically it says on page 4 at the bottom right:

5150 MHz - 5350 MHz:
max. mean 200mW e.i.r.p.
only indoor usage

5470 MHz - 5725 MHz:
max. mean 1,0 W e.i.r.p.
indoor and outdoor usage

So with DFS enabled I'm breaking local (Austrian) requirements because DFS is also using channels 36-64 which are not allowed for outdoor usage and with DFS disabled I'm breaking ETSI 301 893.
Would it be possible to add an option to to limit the channels or at least the bands DFS uses?

Regards,
Thomas
