This is a new iphone app that helps view your tower locations using a HUD or virtual overlay. Works very well for our NLOS towers and my new employee's that can't read a compass or a map. Only .99 cents. Simple to use. Down side is it only displays in meters. I will email and ask for feet conversion.
I give it two thumbs up. tell me what you all think.

You hire people that can't read a compass or a map? That's funny...I digress.

There is this new version of AirControl coming soon that has a really cool Map feature so you could lay out installation sites if Thomas would make it so you can add radios that are not on line yet. Then you could insert an installers radios he has to install into AirControl and place the markers where they will be installed. That way your installer could then use a laptop, or in your case a nice iPad, and it shows the beam path back to the AP overlaid on a map and or Satilite images from google earth. It will even calculate what the Rx Signal should be, and show a beam profile and calulated Freznol Zone requirements.
What ubnt needs to do is hire a flunky for Thomas so he can bring these features on line quicker. Plus I think Thomas gets lonely up in his little area all by himself. Whens the last time you sent Thomas a message saying thanks man, we know it's lonely being the only person in the AirControl Division of ubnt! We Love you man!
Right about now Thomas is going "what? what did he say I am doing? Maps, what maps, Calulate who? Subordinate,....,ubnt is hiring me an assistant?" LOL

Hey hey... Of course we are going to do all of that Chris - in due order. And we are working on speeding up things, even though it may never be fast enough for you! Rest assured everything that is posted on the wish list and elsewhere on the AirControl forum is received. Your feedback is great as always, and we don't need to look for an AirControl product manager for sure. :icon_wink:
BTW You can add radios before they are online: Go into the add new device dialog and enter the wireless MAC with any random IP number. Once the unit is live scan for the actual IP in the same dialog and it will update the pre-entered record. Or straight away connect and enter the actual address in the connect dialog (NAT case).

google earth has never failed me, yet!
draw a line inbetween your tower and where you are putting your cpe pick out a land mark that should be visible from cpe location. this line will also tell you the distance and allow you to follow the rf path to check for clearance from the tower before you fly.
i don't like to handle my phone when on a tv tower, same goes for a map and compass.

Got the app, have to say its worth the 99 cents just for the fun factor, although it works PERFECTLY.
It activates your iphone cammera and puts a target on it...as you move the cammera around u can see the target move and u can know when u are pointed at your antenna. Would be EXCELLENT for site surveys of new customers. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT.
Or just for when u are at the bar with your friends and go outside u can point and say "hey <insert hot blonde here> see this, thats my tower!"

We have iphone 4's and the compass seems like it would make this app totally useless. Neither one of our compasses have any kind of accuracy at all.

You need to re-calibrate your compass. Mine is dead-on.
Anyways, still good for the blondes at the bar lol.
