Hello, folks.
I had bought my first AirMax product, a Bullet M5, and I'm curious about TDMA and AirMax.
Just by enabling AirMax, this Bullet M5 will use only TDMA and forget about CSMA/CA?
If I disable AirMax or if I connect to a 802.11a network, it will only CSMA/CA without TDMA?
Thanks.

Hello,
The answer is yes to both questions. When AirMax is on, it works in TDMA mode with no Carrier sense. When AirMax is off it works with standard 802.11 protocols.
Thanks,

I thought this was the case too, how can PS2's see the beacon? I mean I can't associate but I can see the Airmax radio with the older gear, I didn't think I should even be able to see it if it wasn't talking CSMA.

Hello,
The AP still sends out normal beacons to associate.
Thanks,
Mike
