View Full Version : eth1_real seems to be on WLAN in 'Bridge Table'

Well, the subject says it all. :p

I am running 5.0.2 and have nano's in bridge mode. I am trying to figure out what mac addresses are on eth1_real so that I can map my network in a more automated way... the 'bridge table' list in the GUI (and brctl showmacs br0 in the CLI) seem to put macs plugged into the eth1 side of the NanoStation 5M into the 'WLAN' side of the bridge.

What is up with that? How can I see the mac addresses connected to eth1_real? (SNMP would be great, but telnet or HTTP will do).

Hello,

Please first update to V5.1 as V5.02 has stability issues.

Thanks,

Mike

I'll upgrade when I can get a window to do all units in my network... Unfortunately, the last window, I failed by not realizing we were in a no longer usable frequency. Thanks!

I am running v5.1 firmware and am running in routing mode (not bridging) on a NS5 M-series.
The eth1_real port seems to bridge over to the eth0 port instead of routing.
I set all seperate subnets and verified routing table entries etc. But the device on eth1_real bridges thru to eth0 completely ignoring the ip address I have assigned to eth1_real.

Is there a way to completely disable bridging all together? I route my network exclusively and do not bridge anything.

Hello,

In the software the two Ethernet ports are basically bridged and this cannot be undone.

Thanks,

Mike

How are they bridged so it can't be undone? Are you saying this is really a 2 port hub, 2 port switch, or is it just in the bridge control? I have no doubt I'm going to want to separate those ports...and I'm sure most everyone will want to as well.

So is this in hardware or firmware?

Thanks
