I've just noticed the WS5 has no measurable connection (even high resistance to dissipate static electricity) between the RJ45 shield and ground (antenna connector, PoE pins 7/8, mounting holes). Bullet and Nano have this connection, why is the WS5 different?
Looking at the PCB more closely with an ohmmeter, I can see 4 pads under the RJ45, 2 of which are connected to ground, but the RJ45 has only 2 pins soldered to the other 2 pads (not connected). The unit is new (Test Date 15/10/09) - has anything recently changed in the proper grounding recommendations? Or is it just a new supplier of RJ45 connectors, and the older ones the PCB was designed for had all 4 pins?
