having 2 links in a bridge confi, (pt to pt) one with 2 bullets M2 and grids, another with 2 Nanostation M5, as distance is only 1.1 Km for both, they running with 20 Dbm of power signals better than -60Dbm at maximum throughput (150Mbps sync for the bullet, 300Mbps sync for the Nano),
when I test with Jperf I got 40% less when I activate Airmax, (f.e Without airmax I have 85 Mbps with 10 multiple streams on the Nano link, when I enable it drops to 50Mbps, I see the same issue with the Bullets M2. As I plan to set up other links over distances of 7 KM I want to know in what case can it be helpfull to enable Airmax ???? Till now it enabling it was everytime less performant. In what setup can this be usefull ???
Anyway this system rocks as I transfer IP-televison over it with a glance !!!!

Grtz from Belgium to all of you !!!

First, are you using firmware 5.1 beta?
If not, you should upgrade and then
do another test.

Ubiquiti now says with 5.1 that you should
leave AirMAX on for a point-to-point link.
My experience has been otherwise. Dave

running indeed 5.1 Beta, with the results described above ..., anyway I am very happy, but still didn't figured out the "gain" of using Airmax ... niether on very short links (test inhouse) of links at 1.1 Km ... perhaps on 10 Km...???? Would like to know ...

Hi Yro,

We would like to take a look at your AirMax issue. Is it possible to provide us with remote access so we can analyze the issue.

If so please PM or email me the info to sriram@ubnt.com
