Hope you guys can help!

- Got a MAC Book Pro unibody late 2008 release
- 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
- Snow Leopard MAC OS X 10.6.2
- Java SE 6 64-bit/32bit showing on both applet and applications window inside java prefs

Downloaded the airview spectrum analyzer at this site http://ubnt.com/airview/downloads.php ...

thru this link: http://ubnt.com/airview/download/Air...er-v1.0.11.zip

- downloaded using speeddownload, safari, firefox ... extracted using different apps like stuffit, default apple extractor, zipeg, betterrar and so on.

- copied app to application folder after extracting, run it from there and it can't detect the device
- also tried to run it from desktop or other locations and it still can't detect the device.

- like other thread, the airview2 usb device can be detected and shown inside the network preferences but icon is showing as dialup device as default. Only the spectrum analyzer client can't detect it.

- tried to make changes on that or check if it can be change to a wifi device to see if that's the problem but there's no way to make is as wifi device or have it change to what it's supposed to be as a device.

Please kindly advice as I need to do a site survey tomorrow and the only available laptop I have right now is my mbp. Thank you very much.

aCe

chlyanace,

I'm sorry it took me this long to reply but the email notifications from our forum site is broken at the moment so I didn't see your private msg until right now. Next time for urgent issues like this email the support team directly at support@ubnt.com and they'll forward the request to me immediately.

I have a Mac exactly like the one you describe above, a unibody with Core2 Duo, but it wasn't running the latest/greatest 10.6.2, it's only at 10.6.0. So I just upgraded it to 10.6.2 and AirView app still starts and quickly detects the AirView2 dongle. Here's a screenshot of it running with my System Profiler software info in the foreground:

http://www.ubnt.com/airview/download/airview-1.0.11-on-mac-10.6.2.png

So I know it works. Now the question is why isn't yours working.

Please do something for me to help me diagnose this for you. Open up a Terminal window, then type:

system_profiler SPUSBDataType > system_profiler.txt

You'll end up with a file called system_profiler.txt in your current directory. Email me this TXT file and I can go from there. You can get my email address from my name's drop-down menu on the left of this post.

Thanks,

Hi Ramin, just want to follow up on this one. It's not a rush anymore due to the holidays but would really appreciate if you were able to have a look on the text file info I've sent you. Thanks again.

chlyanace,

It looks like you didn't get your private msg I'd left you on the forum. Please check that. I'd said that I never received your email with the text file you mentioned. Please use your own email client and email it directly to my UBNT account: ramin (at) ubnt.com (mailto:ramin@ubnt.com).

As usual, we're working right through the holidays, with time off only for Dec. 25th and Jan 1st. So as soon as you get me that text file hopefully I'll be able to diagnose what's going on.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but our forum email feature doesn't appear to be working at all.

Regards,
