Anyone know what the practical limit is of the number of NS5M units to Rocket AP's running in AirMax mode?

The literature suggested around 100 maximum clients per AP. Not sure if this is a real world/practical number though, simply because I don't know if it's been rolled out and tested thoroughly by any WISPs.

Yeah, that's what I trying to find out.
The front page of the Ubiquiti web site says 300+ subcribers per base station.
Seems a bit high but even 100 would be good for me.
However, I wonder what throughput a customer could get if there are so many stations (NS5M) associated with the system at the same time. I would like to achieve 2-3Mbps at any given time.

Well, ethernet port is 100mbps, so at 50 clients downloading or uploading 2mbps, thats where you will hit your limit.

But in real world situation nothing is that simple ;) What kind of setup youre thinking of ?

Yeah, not sure how we get 150Mbps+ on a 100Mbps Ethernet link. I just assumed it was a Gigabit Ethernet link. Guess not.
I'll have a Rocket 5M with 90 degree sector (20dB) and NS5M clients. All running in AirMax mode.
I'll have 4 sectors on the tower.
If I could get true 50Mbps through each sector, that would be more than enough.

Couple of things I've picked up from browsing these forums:

1. 150Mbps is the total throughput in both directions at the same time, so you could have a 75Mbps stream downloading and the same uploading. That's how it's possible over standard ethernet.
2. The '300 clients per base station' thing assumes three Rockets on 120deg sectors making up a base station.
3. From what I've seen from people on here, 50Mbps throughput on a Rocket with sector is perfectly possible via PtP, but I don't know who it behaves in a PtMP situation with a load of clients.

There is no real set number... it all depends on application if everyone is running VOIP or video then the number of clients that can reliably be supported will be a great deal lower then a bunch of clients that just browse and do email.

Yeah, that's what I trying to find out.
The front page of the Ubiquiti web site says 300+ subcribers per base station.
That is a tad conrfusing. It means 300 subs per "base statin" composed of THREE APs.

http://www.ubnt.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33295 where I said
Sorry I don't have any links or citations, but as I've been seeing...most WISP are limiting their Rocket APs to 60 users per AP. And read on through page 2.

I would have hoped they figured out what they were looking for by now
