First guys, this is an OUTSTANDING UI! Why the "heck" Ubiquiti did not just commission their own guys for a slick RS interface is beyond me.

First, is the signal strength from the client or ap perspective? I have seen where units drop to and stay = noise floor and I know they have at least a 25db fade margin from both perspectives. I look at the screen and see a dozen signal strengths at -98, my heart has a tendency to skip SEVERAL beats!

Next, any idea on the network resources used on a per unit basis? I am talking strictly from the radio link perspective. Don't have an issue with running Apache on a computer, I just want to know any adverse affects on network performance.

Last, how "often" is each unit "queried" for it's information? May have overlooked it in the docs. Is all possible information gathered or just what you have selected to see via the UI?

Again great UI and keep up the GREAT work...

It's from the client perspective. Compare what you see in AirControl with what you see in the stations web UI. You can also add the AP MAC as a column if that helps to interpret the values.

The default reporting interval (which you can change under Settings) is every 15s. There is one small size HTTP request going from each device to the AirControl server with that frequency. There is no other routine traffic except a multicast discovery request issued by the server every minute (which can be turned off in the latest build under Settings as well, if desired). Traffic through SSH control channel only occurs as result of user actions in AirControl or units going into error state.

Thanks for the fast response.

Client side is what I would have thought. However, I can bring up the actual radio UI and look at what AC has and they are radically different. That said, after reading additional posts, this may be an artifact of "loosing" a unit. I have a custom application I wrote (UBooT) that I use to schedule reboot of all units, AP and clients. I get up on certain mornings and that is when I see the -98 signal strength with the "gray" button. Do you think this could be contributing to this false negative? The ability to reboot my system and at an individual unit granularity simply keeps my system running smoother. I stagger the units so only one is ever in a reboot state at any given time (x.x.x.10=4:10AM, x.x.x.11=4:11AM, etc).

Do you see this type of "reboot" functionality getting into AC? I would be glad to "deprecate" my app...

Thanks
Sig
