Good day guys & gals
I hope that you can be of assistance. I have a couple of NS5 running on our network. After a thunder storm this past week, one of the units stopped working. I am able to ping 192.168.1.20 but I can not open the web console. It does not give an error page, the browser just 'hangs'.
The indicators lights at the back also 'flashed' in a strange sequence.
Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Morne

Have you done a hard reset on this NS?
Have you installed these units properly
using shielded (FTP) CAT5 cable and
a grounded PoE power adapter? Dave
At this point, you have *NO* idea what is good or bad. Narrow the scope of the issue by swapping units and power supplies, and cables, and then back again.
Nano1 + PS1 = problem
Nano1 + PS2 = OK
Nano1 + PS1 = problem again, most likely you have a bad power supply
You'll need one good Nano, one good PS, two good patch cables to effectively isolate the issue.
If its a suspect unit - try a 6 to 8 second rest button, unplug unit 30 seconds, plug it back in. See if you still have a problem.

Thank you, I have tried a hard reset on the NS which seemed to resolve the 'flashing lights' issue, but I am still unable to access the OS. I must admit Dave I have not used a grounded POE, only the standard POE that was issued with the NS. If there was a electrical surge, does that mean the unit is effectively ruined, or can I take it in to be repaired?

but I am still unable to access the OS. Can you ping the radio? If you can, then it might be a browser issue. Try another web browser.

Morne, you can always ask for
an RMA:
