Hi,

The pppoe Encryption is the mppe encryption? or is an ubiquity implementation.
The standar rp-pppoe linux server support this encryption??

This is really important for us.

Thanks you all :)

The problem that I see, is that most wifi acces points don't support encryption over pppoe.
My plan is to configure the nanostations as a bridge, and the wifi AP behind to the the config via pppoe.
This way, the users can redirect ports and change settings without know nothing about my wireless network.

Yes. MPPE is a point to point encryption.
I use mppe with ppp (over ethernet) on freebsd servers (with mpd and the freebsd's standard ppp).

grayfox thank you for your response,
but, I'd like to use pppoe for handling the public ip to my clients, but neither windows nor Wireless AP's suppor encryption with pppoe. Thats my problem.
I'd like to know how people solve this.

Thanks :)

Which type of encryption are you talking about? Wifi or encapsulation encryption?

Im talking about ecapsulation encryption.
alot of ap's have a WAN port and a LAN port o switch. And they cat get the internet config from the WAN with pppoe, dhcp, static,etc...
The problem I se, is that this pppoe cliens don't support encapsulation encryption.

Understood.
If you bridge your interfaces, you can dial from your windows machine through the wireless router, and connect to a ppp server (windows dials to a unix server).

I have a situation here that i use this example.

I have a wisp that users uses a bridge and windows dials to my freebsd's ppp server.

Maybe i can help you with your config. Alright?

Regards,

Thiago

Hei grayfox, thats very kind of you.

That's what i want. (the users dialing from windos)
But, if I configure the pppoe server to use require encryption, the windows user can't connect. That's my problem.
