It would be great if an application bundle was made for AirView on OS X. This would make the application be contained in a single application file (its actually a folder but I will get to that). It would also let it be placed in the dock, as well as make it easier to installed/uninstall.

More information can be found on the apple website at http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/CoreFoundation/Conceptual/CFBundles/Introduction/Introduction.html

Also if you are using a Mac OS X machine, and have XCode installed, you can find an application called Jar Bundler, under Dev -> Utilities which is made to turn a jar into a .app, I have done it for the current version, 1.0.10, but without access to the icon. I cannot make a complete bundle.

Please let me know If I can be of some help.

Thanks for your offer of help, and yes, I'm well familiar with Mac's app bundle. Actually the original released version of the application was an app bundle. I used a 3rd party application installer to create the installers for both Windows and Mac and all worked great. Until Apple Java 6 Update 4 came along. It was at that point that some API or binary change by Apple broke the installer's generated app bundle. So not to make people wait for a 3rd party company to catch up with the Apple update change, I re-released the application's pkg as a simple tarball.

Sure, I can certainly take a look at re-doing the Mac installer package as an app bundle once again but I'm afraid that'll have to be prioritized behind some of the newer features I'm trying to complete for the app itself. For now, the tarball works, but it just isn't very pretty and of course, no doc icon. After I'm done with these new features I'll definitely re-visit the app bundle pkg issue.

Thanks again for the info.
